Project: Refurbishment and expansion of serviced offices in Nottingham city centre.

Cost: £1.9M

Building strip-out, refurbishment and expansion to deliver a new serviced office space for long-term client, BizSpace.

The opportunity

Total Project Integration oversaw the refurbishment and expansion of the BizSpace Nottingham serviced offices, St Nicholas House. The project commenced in March 2023 and had a tight strip out and refurbishment programme. The works involved the full refurbishment of the existing building’s extension.

The challenge

Key challenges faced were the quick timescales, close vicinity of adjoining owners and the demands of working in a live environment within the city centre. Due to the central location, deliveries, logistics and the execution of the external works had to be carefully managed. It was ensured that the processes adopted by the Principal Contractor took account of the proximity of adjoining owners and members of the public.

The outcome

The new building now offers a variety of workspaces, from flexible managed office spaces to meeting rooms. The building now benefits from 24-hour access, air-conditioning, well positioned breakout areas, fully serviceable kitchens, communal working spaces, a refurbished lift, secure cycle parking and shower facilities to provide tenants with the luxuries that are typical of a contemporary office environment.
